Multiply Your Moments

The idea of living in the moment may seem out of touch, especially to those that are so driven by their goals. However, do not underestimate the cumulative effect this can have on your life. Take a penny for an example, if you see a penny on the sidewalk, you hardly feel it’s worth the effort to bend over and pick it up. But suppose you began to double that penny each day for a month. At the end of the first week, you would only have sixty-four pennies, not too impressive, but if you continued, by the end of the month, you would have $5,368,709.12. Wow!

One moment may not seem that important, but as we multiply those moments, it’s amazing how many we would have in a month. Living for the moment attracts more great moments, and just as the penny that doubled daily, moments have a cumulative effect that begins to build our tomorrows. Someone who sees a stonecutter bang away at a stone with his hammer, he might hit the rock a hundred times with no apparent effect, but on the hundred and one hit, the stone cracks. The point is the last blow didn’t crack the stone; it was the result of all the strikes before. That’s the way moments in our days work. Sometimes it seems we are making zero progress, or our efforts are useless, but keep going, keep putting your best into each moment, and the breakthrough will come!

Wow, have I got a series for you. “I Dare You” get it now.
